Little Fin

Confession: after dining out on an average of 3 nights a week last year, I gained a little bit of weight which was a hard hit for me considering I’d been very regimented with my diet for the past 2 years. When I went back to visit my family in Dhaka this winter, my brother put me on a gruelling diet and work out plan which resulted in me getting back into shape (thank GOD).

I was a little nervous about coming back to Toronto because a) I would lose my personal trainer and b) the smorgasbord of restaurants here makes it hard to maintain a healthy diet 24/7. Nonetheless I was determined not to give into temptation and keep up my workout routine. Upon returning to Toronto, I left for New York, which meant eating out a lot (and not the healthiest food either, mind you). After my trip, I begrudgingly stepped onto the weighing scale only to realize I hadn’t gained an ounce of weight which was a huge relief. This motivated me more than ever and I excitedly got back into my routine of working out and eating clean.

After a week of some major detox and sore muscles from the gym, Nish and I decided it was time to live a little and go out for dinner. We chose Little Fin, which is The Chase’s laid-back younger sister.

I know, I know, we may have gone a little overboard, but we had no idea $40 would get us so much food!

So what did we order, you ask?

This was Nish’s Crispy Rock Shrimp roll which he got with crispy potatoes on the side.

Glorious isn’t it? Perfectly crispy with a hint of sweet chilli sauce. I may have liked his sandwich better than mine but don’t tell him or he’ll gloat.

Being a sucker for anything with lobster, I ordered the Lobster BLT (without the bacon). A little tough to get a grip on but well worth the battle. Fresh and rich at the same time.

Comparable to the Lobster Roll from Burger & Lobster in London, yes I went there. With a side seaweed salad, you know, to keep things healthy.

But we didn’t stop there. To be fair, nobody just glazes over the menu without being intrigued by the words ‘lobster’ and ‘poutine’, much less in one sentence. So we did the logical thing and ordered it.

How was it? Well it was the best 12 bucks I’ve ever spent, I’ll tell you that much.

There was no way we could finish all that food. So we packed it up for a midnight snack, but obviously, no meal is complete without dessert. So we marched on over to The Chase Fish and Oyster and got ourselves a Hazelnut Bombe

Basically, it was a giant, multi layered Ferrero Rocher.

Undoubtedly one of the richest desserts I’ve had and a hundred percent worth almost passing out at the gym this morning.

I am always impressed by The Chase and all of its sister restaurants. They are, in my opinion, some of the best seafood joints in Toronto. If you haven’t been yet, Little Fin deserves to be high up on your ‘to-eat’ list. And as an added bonus, all their food is super Instagrammable! How’s that for an incentive to go?

On a side note- I paid using Tab (basically Uber for restaurants) and if you use my code ‘tabhaider’, you’ll get $10 off your next meal! Pretty cool, right?

The food looks delicious, I can see why its tempting but if you work out and eat healthy most of time, theres always room for an indulgence! x
