As most of you probably know by now, through the years, I’ve evolved into a minimalist. The idea of myself in a patterned top sends me into cardiac arrest, and I would rather not shave my legs all summer long than wear a tulle skirt. However, when it comes to formal, or semi formal occasions, what is a minimalist to do? How does one stay true to their style without the fear of being underdressed? This was actually a thought that crossed my mind all throughout fashion week. I’d see girls in heels and colours while I would show show up in a turtleneck and Stan Smiths. So I’ve found the best way to tackle the problem is through a statement piece. And by statement piece, I mean a piece of clothing or accessory that is true to your style, but somewhat of an elevated version.ย I’ve tried this method several times, and have been extremely happy with the result. This faux fur coat, and even my snake print booties are a testament to that. So for all you minimalists out there, what are your tips and tricks?

Love this outfit! It’s interesting to hear about your transition into a minimalist. I sometimes feel as though that is where my style is evolving to – but then I see tulle, sparkles and patterns and my heart sings! Definitely an internal struggle lol!

Oh I know exactly what you mean. It was a long winded road to get to where I am, and even now I love looking at tulle and sparkle, I just know it doesn’t work as well on me as it does on others. You on the other hand – sparkle and tulle was made for you! I can’t imagine anyone wearing it better ๐Ÿ™‚ xo

Thanks Mary, glad you like it. The reason I love minimalism so much is how versatile each piece is – and I love focusing on quality over quantity ๐Ÿ™‚ xo

That coat is amazing! Love love love it! And those rings. I do love my prints, but I’m getting more and more into the minimalist style. It really makes it easier to get dressed in the morning and it’s much nicer on my wallet. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve restyled old pieces lately because I’ve gone the minimalist route and found multiple ways to wear one piece that way. It’s much harder for me to say I have nothing to wear haha.

You are beyond beautiful girl and that jacket! I WANT IT ! I have gone more minimalistic by having just one statement piece, and then everything else quite basic. I don’t normally wear any jewelry, and just like to have neutral makeup with a dark lip!
Keep the outfits coming girlie .. I love them so much!

Like that you are going more minimalist ! ๐Ÿ™‚
I myself do project 333, which works really well. I do however not add Jewelry and shoes into my capsule.

But as for clothes having basic pieces, that you can layer with more creative pieces, like a black tee with a cool scarf ๐Ÿ™‚
Or a basic grey dress with some colorful sneakers :p
