Goals

As I write this blog post, I’m hardly able to believe that the year has come to an end. For the past little while, each year has had an impact on a different sphere of my life. 2013 was a year of health and fitness, 2014 was a year of travel, and I’m proud to say that 2015 has been a year of working my ass off to make the biggest professional strides to date. I reached several milestones this year including hitting 10k followers on Instagram, working with brands for the first time through my blog, and most significantly, landing a job at Elle. The reason I say most significantly is because I graduated with an undergrad in Political Science and Sociology, with a fanciful dream of working at a fashion magazine. After two years of tears, sweat, and relentless hard work, I was able to secure the job I always wanted, proving to myself that nothing is impossible if I set my mind to it.

While I may not believe in resolutions, I do believe in goals, and have set myself a number of albeit ambitious ones to achieve in 2016. While 2015 saw huge accomplishments in the professional arena of my life, it wasn’t a great year for health and fitness. So a huge goal this coming year is to get back into shape so I don’t cry every time my brother trains me. Another goal is to attend NYFW. I’ve been blogging seriously for about a year now, and have dreamed of attending NYFW for as long as I can remember, something I plan on making a reality this year (with a little luck and a lot of hard work). While I was hoping to travel more than ever before in 2015, I wasn’t able to due to work commitments, so in 2016, my goal is to travel every chance I get. While I do have a list of so many more goals, I wanted to share a few of them with you so you know the direction in which I’m trying to take my life. What are your goals/resolutions for 2016?

Wow, you’ve accomplished some amazing things this year, Siffat! You know, I attended a career summit with Cosmopolitan a couple of years ago, and practically all of the key note speakers did not have a degree or formal education/training in the fashion industry and still became successful in the industry, that’s YOU! I believe you WILL attend NYFW and perhaps I’ll see you there (I’m believing, too)! You will also achieve all your fitness and health goals, I know you will! With such drive and motivation, it’s impossible for you to fail at your goals 🙂

I wish you an amazing 2016, beautiful! Get ready because it will be your best year yet; Happy New Year!

    XO,
