Luma

Luma

Summerlicious and Winterlicious are right up there with my birthday in terms of days of the year. I mean, a period in time when one can visit a plethora of restaurants to try a fixed menu, what’s there not to love? Last weekend, I was invited to Luma to try their Winterlicious menu, which couldn’t have made for a better welcome back to the city. I decided to go at lunch time to take advantage of optimal lighting so I could get the best possible pictures.

We started with soup and salad. Vegetable Barley Soup. The perfect remedy for my cold.

The Wedge Salad.

Next, came the mains. The appetizers couldn’t have possibly prepared us for what was to come – both dishes were phenomenal. The Squash and Spinach Lasagna was every bit as flavourful as you’d imagine. It was topped off with fresh parmesan and spiced raisins, need I say more?

The showstopper, however, was the Moules Frites.

The mussels were made in a curry sauce and the fries were some of the best I’ve had in the city. In fact, I can almost swear I heard angels sing. Needless to say, I practically licked my plate clean.

Although I was stuffed to the brim, who am I to say no to dessert?

The Cinnamon Pavlova, which was equal parts beautiful and delicious.

The custard was to die for.

And the pecan pie and oatmeal icecream duo which was second to none – my only complaint is that I wish there was more ice cream!

Overall, it was the perfect start to the Winterlicious season. If you guys haven’t been to Luma yet, I highly suggest you give it a go, and please do not leave without trying the Moules Frites, the chef should be honoured by France and India for making a dish worthy of royalty.

That dessert is so damn pretty. I think it would’ve taken me ages to dig into because I’d just be sitting there and admiring how colorful and pretty it was. And I am a sucker for lasagna. Sounds like a wonderful find!

YUMMY!!! Everything look so delicious! I LOVE Moule Frite, it’s actually from Belgium not France but we love that in France too. Generally you will have as All can eat moule frite because mouse doesn’t fill you up that much in small quantity. I’ve never tried curry moule but I’m sure it’s delicious. You’re the best girl to hang out with, I mean you love fashion, food and travel what else can we ask for πŸ˜‰

Oh wow! This looks absolutely delicious. I’ve never heard of Luma (obviously since I’m from Portugal), but I’m now itching to get my ass on there to try out the foods. I have to say that even though I’m not a huge fan of fries, those look like something I’d “cry for more” of. (It’s a Portuguese expression, I don’t know how well it works in English).

Your photos are always so gorgeous.
