Thompson Toronto

It’s so easy to get caught up in our everyday lives, that sometimes taking a staycation can be the most refreshing and relaxing thing possible. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I stayed in the Thompson Toronto last weekend, and it was just what I needed to refresh.

Upon entering the hotel, I immediately felt at home amidst the modern decor. The staff were super friendly, and went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. I arrived at the hotel in the evening, so after settling in, the first thing I did was order dinner – truffle mac n cheese. Guys, this was the best mac n cheese I have ever had in my life. I still wake up dreaming about it. To my Toronto friends, if you have yet to go to the Thompson diner, I beg you to pay them a visit, your life will never be the same again. Afterwards, I checked out the rooftop bar which is known for the best view of the city. I was totally taken aback by how beautiful the skyline looked and it gave me a whole new appreciation for the city I call home.

I think pictures speak louder than words, so I hardly need to tell you what an incredible experience I had. I returned home the next day feeling energized and ready to take on the week. To my international readers, if you’re ever in the city and are looking for a great hotel in one of Toronto’s coolest neighbourhoods, I couldn’t recommend The Thompson more. Every aspect of my stay was perfect, and I feel myself constantly feeling the urge to take another staycation!

I agree, a staycation can be just as relaxing as vacationing away. I love your room, it does exude your modern style, so I know you must have really loved it and felt at home! Those pancakes look so delicious, now I’m having major cravings, haha! Thanks so much for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you’re having a great start to your week so far!

Siffat, thank you for sharing your experience! I already stayed at Thompson hotels in Chicago and Miami in the past, and I was really impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the decor. If I travel to Toronto, I’ll make sure to book a room there and try that mac n cheese:)

This hotel looks so lovely and it is always so awesome to be able to do a mini-staycation – you get the benefits of going far away (relaxation, a new scenery) without breaking the bank! Sounds like you had an incredible time!

This place looks amazing! I love the room and the view! I love Toronto skyline. The food looks so yummy.

Mac n Cheese with truffle is very good, I have tried it in France. If you want to do it at home, you just need to buy Truffle oil. It’s much more affordable than truffles and easier to find (I’m not sure you can even find fresh truffles in Canada). Actually a lot of restaurants use truffle oil to give a truffle taste to their dishes. It’s good on pizza too 🙂

I am so with you on this one and I’ve felt it quite a lot this past week. It was a really crazy one and as someone who loves spending time on her own, and who loves having time for herself, I really needed a bit of me time. So it was hard. I think – doing things like these are quite worth it because they’re great experiences and allow you to relax. But relax in a way that you feel alive again once you leave. And that is hard to find in the little things we do sometimes because we’re all so worried about something else.

I love this, I love the pictures and I’m happy you had a great time,

    Ella x
