This weekend, I finally went to get a much needed cut and colour. The last time I’d been to the hairdresser was in September, so my hair was closer to a bird’s nest than actual hair. Before I go any further with this post, I wanted to give a shout out to my amazing colourist John Beeson, and my hair stylist, Wesley Hanlon over at Sassoon Salon for giving me the coolest new hair. I decided to go for a long bob with subtle ombre, and couldn’t be happier with my look. I’ve gotten lighter ombre in the past, but I totally left things to my colourist this time around, and he decided to give me a more natural, toned down colour.

While I was getting my hair done (which took approximately 5 hours – I had A LOT of time on hand), I found out that Sassoon released a spring/summer collection kind of like what fashion brands do. I had no idea that salons even did this! So, the spring/summer collection is called Torque and combines space age style and classic beauty. It struck me only today that the sleek bob and chocolate brown highlights that I got is, I think, a personification of this vision – space age meets simplicity. Now I know that with summer almost right around the corner, people tend to go lighter, but I’m really embracing the change, and love the sun kissed look of my new hair.

    I like how subtle the lighter shade is. It flows so well from the darker shade and looks as close to natural as hair coloring can get. I’m not changing my hair for the spring but I might grow my bangs out a bit.

    WOW LOVE IT!!! You look gorgeous! I love dark hair and this touch of light is just perfect!
    I don’t do colour or any highlights in my hair for the simple reason that I can’t maintain that in India.
    I get one haircut a year when I come to Canada, I generally do it in Montreal.
    I don’t want anybody to cut or colour my hair here. They just don’t know the proper techniques and I don’t want to take the risk.
    However when we will move back to Toronto I definitely want to try new things and change a little bit. I have to say it’s very tempting when I see your pictures 🙂
