Today I wanted to discuss something a little different – self improvement. I think as human beings, we tend to be overambitious when setting goals for ourselves, and expect to achieveย them without a plan. The reality of the matter is that in order to achieve the monumental goals we set for ourselves, we have to take baby steps. Lately, I’ve found that focusing on a single small goal every week makes a huge difference, that way things don’t seem so overwhelming.

About a month back, I decided I was going to focus on my skincare regiment for a week, ensuring I applied my night oil and eye cream diligently before bed. I have to say, it caught on and for the past month, my skincare routine has run as efficiently as a German train schedule. Similarly, that’s how I addressed the whole gym situation as well – not by waking up one day and deciding I was going to spend an hour and a half at the gym 6 days a week, but rather committing to running a mile 3 days a week. Sure enough, it was an achievable goal, and I’m proud of myself for sticking to it. For next week, I’ve set myself another goal, and hope thatย by taking tiny little steps to address the things I want to improve about myself, I can be on the road to becoming my best self.

What are some goals you guys hope to accomplish?

Some things you definitely have to start small with and work your way up…especially working out ๐Ÿ˜›

I do agree with you ! when I realise that I accomplish my goal, then I set another one to pursue. At that term, I tried so hard and I found some meaning in my life. That’s how we should ruin our life. Thanks for share ths ๐Ÿ™‚
Also, your outfit was awesome <3

Great post! I totally agree that taking baby steps is the best way to accomplish our goals. I have a habit of trying to tackle too many things at once then I get overwhelmed and give up! I’m definitely going to follow your advice and take one small step at a time!
By the way, love your look! The jacket is gorgeous ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s so hard for me to stick with certain goals. I find that if I don’t like doing something, I let it go so fast.. I barely can give a second chance, but I think I must keep on trying – I am speaking of sports and fitness stuff mostly :))

Great outfit! I love the coat and the pants ๐Ÿ˜‰

I like your outfit! The black coat is a really nice touch against the denim. What you said, I can really relate to. It’s hard to feel like you accomplished something when all your goals are so high up there. I’m trying to set some smaller goals, baby steps to help me get to where I want to be. It definitely helps me feel like I’m getting things done. Currently, I’m trying to be healthier, and similar to what you said, I’ve been taking it week by week rather than creating huge unachievable goals.

I LOVE this ’90s vibe outfit, Siffat, you look so stylish and on trend! I agree, I think it’s better to focus one day and week at a time, then to look ahead too much. It’s great to set goals, but I, too, believe they should be realistic to us, while still posing a challenge to our own standards, so we operate a little out of our comfort zones. When we get overly ambitious, like you’ve said, we can easily burn out quickly because we were not mentally and in some cases, physically capable yet. One can’t go into the gym for the first time and expect to lift 30lbs, without ever having tried 5lbs to pose the challenge. It’s better to work in increments, which always builds strength and character, so that when we reach to the pedicle of our ultimate goal, we acquired wisdom and inner strength to not only achieve the success, but keep it, which is often the hard part! Thanks so much for sharing such truth and I hope you have an amazing week ahead, gorgeous!

Such a chic stylish look! You’re right, we should definitely have a plan in motion when we are going to set goals so that we’re not disappointed when they’re not accomplished or turn out the way we expect or want them to. x
