I know I’ve been a little absent on social media, the reason being that my parents are in town! I always love when my family visits me because it gives me a chance to take them to all my favourite restaurants and cafes, and essentially have a mini staycation myself. Since I’d taken the past 2 days off work, I went on full vacation mode, going completely off my regular schedule of focusing on my work, blog, and the gym. I have to say, it’s the most refreshed I’ve felt in a long time. It makes me realize how caught up I get with work and over performing that I don’t metaphorically stop to smell the roses (even though I literally do on account of my regular trips to the flower market).

What do you do to enjoy your time off?

How fun to have your parents visit! I love this color combo. The lace on the top is so good too.

That’s wonderful that you took some time off to enjoy quality time spent with the family, Siffat! I’m the same way, I tend to naturally overwork myself and get so caught up in all the to-do’s that I need to remind myself to take a break and breathe! On my day off, I love to spend time with my husband, it’s generally Sundays, so we’re both off. We just lounge, go out to eat or do something for the most part that’s relaxing. It’s so important for the mind because you do end up feeling more refreshed and motivated to do all the to-do’s! As for your outfit, I love everything about it, honestly! That black top with the lace hem is so pretty and can be styled in so many ways, such a great piece! I also love both the color of your pants and bag (love the shape). You look gorgeous, as always, girlie! I hope you’re having a great week so far and thanks so much for sharing!

This outfit is stunning! That blush is a beautiful shade on you. I can definitely relate to getting so caught up in the day to day that you start to forget to stop, look around and enjoy. Often times I find it takes something like family visiting, getting really sick, etc. to shock myself out of my routine and hit the refresh button. I’m glad you’re having a chance to do that!

I agree, when the parentals are in town, everything is lovely, especially when you can go to your favourite restaurants. 🙂 Great outfit, I love the whole look. x/Madison

I think I am in love with that combination and those shoes in particular. I really love those lace up shoes, and that soft blush color is so gorgeous.
It’s definitely good to take some time off every once in awhile to relax and unwind. I like to try and stay away from social media when I do. Just focus on the present, what’s actually there and the moment.
It’s good that you got to spend time with your family 🙂

I knew I was gonna like this top when I saw a glimpse of it on IG. Nice that you took some time away to spend with your fam. I need to try to take a social media/blog break…just not sure when.

It’s always nice when parents are visiting, right? Mine were in Toronto a month ago (seems like a week) and we also had a great time!

First of all, I’m in love with your jacket. I’ve been wanting to wear one but (1) I live in a tropical country and (2) not a lot of stores here have that kind of jacket since it’s not really practical to wear one. But still… Haha!

Anyway, I guess my interests have changed. I used to go out a lot and hangout with friends but lately, I prefer just staying at home, watching a movie or reading a good book. 🙂

I think it’s really important to take a break. I tend to be a workaholic so I constantly remind myself that I need to take it easy and stop for a day or too.

I totally loving this look on you. The trousers are so pretty.

Enjoy time with your family. It’s the best. I don’t go on social media everyday, sometimes it’s only every other day or late in the night when my 2 daughters are in bed because family time is to be treasured. Have a great weekend!
