Although I’ve been living in my apartment for close to three years now, I still feel as though the decor is incomplete. I fantasize about floating shelves which are organized in an enviably Pinterest appropriate fashion, and a clothing rack so beautifully colour coordinated that it becomes my Instagram claim to fame. Enter Ikea. With a swift search of the website, I had found everything I needed to curate my said Pinterest-worthy life. Much to my horror, when I went to check-out, I noticed that my shipping fee was exactly the same amount as the cost of what I wanted to purchase, which by principal I refused to pay for. Thankfully, with my parents in town, there seems to be a path to Ikea that doesn’t involve a ridiculous shipping fee, or equally ridiculous Uber bill (Ikea needs to come to downtown Toronto). So this Tuesday, my parents will be driving me over to Ikea to make my decor dreams come true. It may sound silly, but adding pieces to my apartment and making a conscious effort to give it some personality truly make me happy and more excited to spend time at home.

What do you like to do to spruce up your home?

Yes, I’ve already had that experience when your shipping cost is as much as the things you want to buy!! It’s so frustrating, but it’s great that your parents are driving you to IKEA and I can’t wait to see your new decor on Instagram!
Love your outfit, especially those Sam Edelman boots πŸ™‚

I loved this post because I’ll be redoing our guest room into a guest/office space and I was on the ikea website last night thinking the same thoughts! Yay for your parents saving the day though πŸ™‚ Besides changes like these, I love to spruce up my home with fresh blooms!

Glad you are getting to go to Ikea and stock up on everything you wanted for your place! My sister just bought a new house so she has been spending lots of time in Ikea – we try not to join her too often as I always see something I just HAVE to buy there, ha!

I LOVE this outfit, Siffat! First off, you look gorgeous as always, and I love olive on you! The bomber looks great paired with those leather leggings and boots, such a lovely outfit! We’re looking to move soon and the places we’ve been looking at are a little dated in the tile backsplashes for the kitchen and bathroom areas. I’m really excited about using those peel off tile decals that look like the real thing, which I think is such a genius idea for those of us renting! I’m happy that you were able to find an alternative and cheaper way to get your decor goodies, aren’t mom and dad the best?! I hope you’re having a great start to your Monday so far, beautiful, and thanks so much for sharing!

I just give up going to Ikea for furniture. Custom made is what I love most. You are looking great! Love the color of that bomber jacket.

Love your outfit babe, the leggings and bomber jacket are perfect! I love Ikea too and I always refuse to pay for shipping haha. The closest Ikea to me is like 45 min drive but I think it’s totally worth the drive since I love the furniture there. Have fun with shopping and do share your newly decorated place! I just got a big floor mirror for my bedroom so I can now take OOTD mirror selfie like other bloggers haha.

I love adding decor to my home. Especially different things for the seasons. Though I dislike it when I put everything into my cart online only to find that shipping is astronomical. I refuse to buy it as well. But I’m glad you will be able to get to Ikea tomorrow. And your outfit is gorgeous! Love the pants with those boots!!

I’d change up the bedsheet in a shade that inspires me at the point of time. Went for fresh Beige sheets which easily transformed the atmospehre in my bedroom! Great outfit as usual Siffat. Actually did miss your style posts whilst we were away hustling through work and life. Good to be back πŸ˜€

First of all, love the outfit! And second, I feel you! I’ve been staying in my current apartment for like a year now and I feel like I want to fix a few stuff and decorate but (1) I haven’t gotten the time yet, (2) I don’t have a car so how am I suppose to bring home my stuf, (3) and I’m moving in with my fiance next year to a different city so… Might be a bit impractical? LOL
