Smith

Smith

While I’m usually a big proponent of trying new restaurants, there are a few that I can’t resist returning to. I first tried Smith last year, and since then, I’ve gone back several times, unable to resist its unbeatable brunch spread. On this particular weekend, MichaelRosemary and I were actually supposed to meet for brunch elsewhere, but (happily) ended up at Smith after our other plans fell through.

Smith is quite popular amongst my friends, but to be honest, it’s a bit of a hidden gem. It’s tucked away in an unassuming building on Church Street, but it truly is something special. My favourite part of the restaurant is its patio, which with fairy lights and rustic decor, has a bit of a magical feel to it.

But most importantly, they put on quite the spread.

Huevos Rancheros, my favourite in the city.

This right here is the Brisket Hash. If you haven’t tried it, you haven’t lived.

The Ballina, which never disappoints.

And last, but most certainly not least, waffles, which change based on what’s in season.

If you haven’t already guessed, it’s one of my favourites in the city, so the next time you’re looking for a kick-ass brunch, make sure you head over. Oh and if you’re going for dinner, I highly recommend their French Onion Soup.

Happy (almost) weekend!

Wow, brunch win!! All of these dishes look fantastic, but as a huge fan of huevos rancheros. That’s enough to sell me on the fact to go to Smith next time I need an idea for a new brunch spot.
