Faux

Faux

Jacket: Majorelle; Shoes: Gucci

Am I the only one who has really embarrassing memories of freshman year in college when going to a formal meant pairing a dress with a parka? Or even worse, with no coat at all because of the hideousness of said parka? Thankfully, I have gained some wisdom since then and have discovered the wonders of a great faux-fur coat. It’s the easiest way to tackle evening-wear without risking hypothermia. Though my collection is growing at an alarming rate, my current favourite is this one from Revolve. This outfit has also become my go-to evening look during the winter months because it makes me feel like Kate Moss.

Do you guys have an evening wear hack for the winter months?

Sadly my hair are too fluffy already to wear those kind of thing. πŸ™

I am kinda the same way too. I always try to wear my faux fur to outings instead of my parka. It keeps you warm but you still look presentable. lol I also love wearing knee high boots when wearing dresses so that my legs stay warm. Ah the difficulties of Canadian winters.

That coat looks so chic! I think it’s a great idea to have a nice looking piece of outerwear that doesn’t feel as “sporty” or as casual as parkas often do.

That coat looks absolutely gorgeous on you. My problem with that style is finding the right one that doesn’t make me look boxy like a gorilla haha. But yours fits you perfectly.

It’s such a coincidence that I read this post today because just yesterday I pulled an almost identical vintage faux fur coat out of the bottom of my wardrobe and took it to the dry cleaners ready to wear this winter! You look incredible in it, especially with that grungy dark makeup look! I love that you’re wearing it with a lbd. To be honest, my coat collection is a little out of hand but it’s so cold here I have to wear one all the time, so I can justify it as being the most important part of my outfit πŸ˜‰

Your coat is lovely! I still don’t like to take my fur coat to evening things in case it gets ruined or stolen haha :’) Maybe I’m too paranoid πŸ™‚ xx

Oh, I remember doing that in college so many times! Love that faux fur! The neutral tone is really pretty. I have a few faux fur pieces that I love so much!

I can definitely relate to the whole no coat look because coats “ruin the look”. I love the effect of a faux fur coat!! So glam!! You look absolutely gorgeous and I can tell why your collection is growing!

You are soooo preaching to the choir. In December, I sat my ass down, got my laptop out and ordered a few fax fur coats. I got one in an XLarge and it makes me look like a super duper sized Alexis Carrington/Dynasty…I loooove it. Your shaggy one is cool, its fab how it ups your style game up innit, gives you that noncholant Kate Moss rock n roll vibe. ( :

Oh yes, I definitely remember many freezing walks home from college parties because I couldn’t stand the thought of ruining my look with an ugly coat. I love this faux fur option!
