Clearly

Clearly

I remember when I was first told I needed glasses (12th grade), I burst into tears at my optometrist’s office. I had prided myself on my 20/20 vision, and couldn’t fathom having to wear glasses every single day. Vanity was certainly a huge part of this, I didn’t think glasses could look fashionable. Coming to terms with the fact that I have to wear glasses is something I’ve struggled with. For the longest time, I hated going out with them, and as a result, compromised my eye health.

Over the past year however, I came to realize that my unhealthy attitude towards glasses just wasn’t sustainable. I couldn’t go around squinting every time I went out because I didn’t like my glasses. More importantly, my unhealthy relationship with my eyes went against my belief that fashion and comfort can go hand in hand.

So this year, as a part of my health and fitness resolution, I decided to prioritize eye-health. The first step was finding a pair of glasses that I was excited to wear. I was able to find that in the form of a pair from Clearly. They compliment my style and make me feel confident. Most importantly, it’s a huge relief to not be squinting constantly to make out words. Being able to see clearly allows me to focus on more important things, like hearing what someone is saying at a presentation. Or not getting lost at an airport because of my inability to make out signs.

For those of you who are looking to find your perfect pair of glasses, I highly recommend you check out Clearly. They have two locations in Vancouver, and one in Toronto that provide full-service eye exams. From now until February 15th, you can use the code “Siffat” to get 40% off lens upgrades. Find yourself glasses that you love, believe me, it will change your life.

omg I totally hear you! I remember my first pair of glasses and I hated having to wear them. Once you find the right pair though, you just wear them without really thinking about it!

For someone that uses glasses those glasses are versatile in the sense it goes with every outfit. I also use to go out without my glasses and end up squinting and all. Will definitely check out that site.

I’m wearing glasses since age 13! It’s annoying and lately my eyes became worse but well, at least the new glasses are trendy – and even 70s vintage glasses are hip again, lol.
    Amazing look btw!

This post made me laugh because I went to the Optometrist LY and felt the exact same way (no tears) but I was pretty bummed to find out that I needed glasses.. I’ve since gotten over it lol (and still haven’t filled my prescription) but I definitely sympathize with you on your initial reaction!!

My vision is embarrassingly HORRIBLE. I need to try out Clearly. I hate going to the optometrist – HA! This is a great review. You also happen to look incredibly chic in glasses!

I wear glasses too but only when watching tv or if I am working on my pc, at first I hated them, I thought I looked ridiculous but now after some years I love to wear them! x

I’ve always thought of glasses as a perfect opportunity to look even more fierce and see it as an accessory. But I guess it’s different when you’re young and you really need glasses to see. But anyways, I think yours suits you really well and makes a great “detail” to the outfit. So fierce and classic babe! Xx

I wear glasses and I really like wearing them. I think they make you look smart and classy. The only thing is that they don’t look so nice when we take photos. That is why I wear contact lenses for photoshoots. And your glasses really suit you, Siffat!

I love how far glasses have come, I remember when I got my first pair in grade two and most of the glasses you had to choose from where so ugly I’m so glad they have made fashionable ones nowadays

I love your frames, they look so good on you! I’ve been wearing glasses since the 1st grade, so I don’t know what it’s like to have been able to see clearly and have to wear glasses. As I got older, I hated the way I looked with them, too, because back in the late 90s and early 00s there wasn’t nearly as cute options as there are today! Now, it’s trending to wear glasses, even if you don’t need them, ha! To be honest, I prefer wearing contacts because they’re easier for me and I’m able to switch up my sunglasses and not have to worry about leaving my glasses home, which I would often do before. I am in the market for a pair of new glasses, though, the ones I own are nearly 11yrs old already! Thanks so much for sharing, girlie, and I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!

I’m glad glasses can be as fashionable as can be these days. More so, being able to maintain one’s eye health whilst still look fashionable.

    Great post hun!
