I can’t believe my prom was 7 years ago! I actually still have my dress, and laugh a little when I go back to visit my parents and see it hanging in my closet. My style in high school was the polar opposite of what it is now, and by that I mean that I had none. I wore a pastel yellow and pink floral maxi. Can you imagine? Me in colour? Regardless of what I wore, the most important thing is that I had fun.
When I think of prom styling tips, I think the most important tip is to find a dress that you’re comfortable in. Personally, if I could go back in time, I would also put myself in something more simple, so that I could wear it for years after. Also, back then, I hadn’t come to the realization that not every kind of dress suits every person. Since I have an hourglass figure, I fell in love with this high-low dress from Melanie Lyne. My favourite part would have to be the V-neck and how perfectly it cinches my waist. And the lace trip adds the kind of drama that every prom dress deserves. So, although my prom days are over, it was fun to play dress-up. To my readers who have prom coming up this year, I’ll be living vicariously though you 🙂
