How Not To Hate Mondays

How Not To Hate Mondays

Dress: Aritzia (similar here and here); Jacket: Topshop (similar here and here); Corset: Zara (similar here and here); Shoes: Alexander Wang

While I love the weekend as much as everyone else, I’m also one of those people that really likes Mondays. Starting a new week means new goals and fresh possibilities. However, I didn’t always think this way. I used to hate Mondays! But over time, I made small, positive changes that helped me change the way I perceive Mondays. I’m sharing my tips below in hopes that it’ll help you, too:

Unwind on Sunday Evening
Make it a point to pamper yourself on Sunday evenings and go to bed early. This way, you wake up fresh and ready for the week. Not to mention, it will totally change your pre-doomsday perception of Sunday night. Do whatever makes you feel good, whether that means taking a bath or reading a great book. I personally like to spend Sunday evening indulging in a long skincare routine, cooking a nice dinner and ending the night with either a good book or movie.

Start your week with intention
Make a list of things you want to accomplish during the week. Write it all down on the weekend, so you’re ready to conquer the week with purpose.

Clean your home
Is there anything worse than starting the week with a messy home? Seriously. A scattered home results in a scattered mind. Clean up your home during the weekend so you can start your week zen.

Plan activities during the week
I think one of the biggest mistakes people make is saving all the fun for weekends. Why not schedule in a midweek dinner with your friends or significant other? Why not watch that movie you’ve been dying to see? By scheduling in fun activities for the week, you give yourself things to look forward to. This way, the week doesn’t seem that long or boring.

Schedule in a workout class
Guys, listen to Elle Woods: “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands”. If you hate going to the gym, you’re not alone. A fun solution to this is taking a class at a studio. If you don’t want to go to a workout class alone, go with a friend. It’s an excuse to hang out while doing wonders for your body. This has become a staple in my routine, and I am so much happier! Things like this also make the week go by faster while killing stress.

Looking stunning, Siffat! ♥ I don’t particularly like waking up early on Mondays because I am sooo not a morning person, but it is true that I like my weekly routine, a couple of sporty sessions a week and some errands to run after work or an improvised meetup with friends always make my week go by in the blink of an eye 🙂 Hope you have a great one, babe!

I fully agree with splitting the fun over the week instead of doing it all during the weekend. Evening out the week that way definitely makes Monday a bit less dreadful.
