After a crazy 36 hours in Brussels, these pictures were taken in Amsterdam where I had some time to relax and catching my breath. I’d decided to book a longer period of time in Amsterdam because I thought there was a lot of ground to cover, but in reality, it’s a small, quaint city which is perfect for long walks, great food, and spending your evenings exploring the wonder that is the Red Light District (I have so many questions, SO MANY).
After doing most of the recommended tourist activities, I’ve been spending my time sampling enough cheese to feed a small village and shopping more than I should be. I’m incredibly impressed by the Dutch fashion scene, which is right up my alley with its comfortable footwear and oversized coats.
The other day, I was walking around when I stumbled upon Laundry Industry, a Dutch store which is my idea of minimalist heaven. There, I found the most beautiful collection of vintage handbags I’ve ever seen. I’m talking, Chanel, Dolce & Gabana, Louis Vuitton, everything one could imagine. Then, it happened. My eyes fell upon an royal blue vintage Celine, and I felt like I’d lost the ability to breathe. I had to have it. After being compared to Becky from Confessions of a Shopaholic on several occasions, I decided to step out of the store, breathe, and think about it instead of making a rash decision in the moment. So 12 painful hours where my soul literally ached for it with every passing moment, I went and bought it for myself. The weather was obviously supportive of my decision because it gave me a full day of sunshine which I took advantage of and shot this look by the canals.
