Before leaving for Europe, I was introduced to Makara Jewelry, a line of handmade jewelry by former Canadian model (and general mega-babe), Nikola Smith. Each piece is a statement in and of itself, and doesn’t really need much else to embellish it. When I first saw the Look Into My Eyes piece, the two words that immediately came to mind were elegance and power, so I wanted to pair it with an outfit and backdrop that really spotlighted those qualities.

Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin seemed like the perfect place to shoot this look because of its almost otherworldly feel. Taken in front of the steps to the French Cathedral, I felt like the location exuded power, almost like a temple for Greek Gods rather than a church. This is quite possibly one of my favourite outfits to date because it makes me feel confident and sexy, which to me is the essence of the Makara Jewelry line.
