Another day, another brunch. Trust me, you will love this one.
Saving Grace seemed to be haunting me. I would stumble upon on social media every day without fail, read about it, and even had it recommended to me by multiple people. Naturally, I had to go investigate for myself. I got a group of friends together and we made our way over on a Saturday morning.
Dundas West has had a slew of restaurants pop up lately, and Saving Grace is one of them. As soon as we arrived, we realized there was going to be a wait, so we put our names down and proceeded to wait outside and soak up the sunshine. Before long, we were escorted in.
Now Saving Grace doesn’t have a menu online. The bulk of their menu changes daily, so your options are written on a black board at the restaurant. We put in our orders, and shortly after, the food started to arrive. Wave after wave of scrumptious plates.
Fried eggs on a cornmeal waffle with avocado and potatoes.
Delicious and extremely filling. Although I wish it had included a sweet element in the form of maple syrup.
The stuffed, fried tacos. Perfectly crisp on the outside and stuffed to the brim with avocado, potato, and a slurry of ingredients I couldn’t even identify. All that mattered was that it was heavenly.
Baked eggs in a hole. Soft and buttery brioche topped with cheese and pesto. Absolutely brilliant.
Everyone was stuffed, but I for one couldn’t turn down an opportunity to try their famous french toast. Thankfully my younger brother eats like a small village, so he was up for a challenge.
It arrived. Drenched in syrup and topped off with slices of caramelized banana, it was everything I could have hoped for.
It was also far too large for two people. It took 6 fully grown adults to finish this beast, but boy, was it a great end to brunch.
If you haven’t yet, get yourself a pair of the stretchiest, loosest sweatpants you can find, and head on over to Saving Grace ASAP.
