To the women that walk, run, or strut in high heels as if they have not a care in the world nor the ability to feel pain on their feet, I applaud you. I don’t care what you say, but walking at an almost 90 degree angle on what can only be considered stilts is unnatural and will never be something that my ankles are comfortable with. It takes a sort of determination that I just do not have.

Sure, nothing feels as exciting as buying a new pair of heels. Styling an outfit around them brings about a sort of rush, and admittedly, wearing them out is a confidence booster. That being said, I’ve resigned myself to the fact that heels were just not made for me. I’ve fractured my ankle while wearing flats on multiple occasions, and have been on crutches far too many times to risk my foot health with high heels on a regular basis. So, how does one combine comfort with the feeling of living on the edge that is so unique to heels?

Fear not comfort junkies, that daredevil life is not beyond your reach. I present to you studded flats. These babies can easily be doubled as a weapon and make you feel just as dangerous as if you were in a pair of stilettos. Except without the risk of a sprained ankle. Significant other not doing the dishes? Accidentally play footsie in these and you’ll show them who’s boss. Who says flats can’t give you an adrenaline rush too?
