When going on a first date, the traditional approach is to wear something that confirms the fact that you are indeed a woman. This involves trading in one’s loosely fitted turtleneck and pant combo for a skirt/dress, and fashionable, yet practical sneakers for heels that make you want to saw off your feet. Of course, this is all me just assuming the basics of first date etiquette since I myself have never had the pleasure of awkwardly making small talk while resisting the urge to order a burger.

So this skirt is probably the boldest thing I own, which is why I hadn’t worn it in a year, but then I found it in my closet and was all YOLO. I felt like a mix between a construction worker on a night shift with a salsa dancer on account of the fringe heels, which actually turned out to be a mix that I’m into. What are your thoughts on first date outfits?

Thanks Shell! It was a little outside my comfort zone, but I was really happy with the result πŸ™‚ xo

You look ready for your date! Love the shoes. Guys love a girl in high heels. Turtlenecks and pants are more for a sixth or seventh kind of date, when you’re comfortable enough to let down your walls. Burgers are for any date in my opinion. (And chocolate desserts!)

Oh I couldn’t agree more! Chocolate dessert is imperative to any meal – date or not haha! xo

Thanks Rania! I don’t generally opt for such bold colours, but I think I balanced it out with the t-shirt πŸ™‚ xo

I love this outfit! I think it is very nice for a first date, neon is no longer for people wanting attention, it is for people who are strong to deal with attention πŸ™‚

This was actually far out of my comfort zone, I’m much more comfortable doing the minimalist thing, which we all know you’re the queen of! xo
