As much as I believe in comfort first, sometimes we do painful and stupid things in the name of fashion. On day 3 of Fashion Week, I decided to wear a pair of over the knee boots with 4 inch heels. They’re my favourite boots, but they hurt enough for me to want to saw my feet off, reminding me all too much of Monica. After wearing said boots for 9 hours, I noticed that two of my toes had gone completely numb. But I’m no quitter, I decided that the next day, despite my numb toes and bruised balls of feet, I was going to wear heels… again. Which brings us to this outfit. I’ve already worn these heels several times, but at the end of the day, they are stilettos which doesn’t exactly make them ideal to run around in. After wearing them for 10 hours, I caved and changed into flats, only to realize I’d literally lost sensation in the two toes already injured from the night before. So I did some digging. Turns out, Morton’s Neuroma is an actual thing. It’s when your toes go numb from nerve injury after wearing heels for a prolonged period of time. My feet did, thankfully, recover after 4 days of strictly wearing sneakers, but moral of the story is wearing heels for that long can be a danger to your feet. So, would I do it again? Abso-fucking-lutely.

    This is a true but sad story! I mean sometimes we do stupid things without thinking about the drawbacks! Hope your toes are getting better!! You look amazing S!! x

      The crazy things we do for fashion, right? I can’t believe I survived the week, I’m happy to report that my feet are back to normal after days of wearing just sneakers lol!

    I hate wearing heels. It’s one of those things I can’t compromise fashion over comfort for. I can stand them for about 3-4 hours max. But after that, girl’s gotta go home or go barefoot. But you are a super trooper. 10 hours? Whoa! Just be careful. My friend has to have foot surgery because she’s worn high heels for too many years and now the bone is protruding out of her foot. It is a PAINFUL recovery process and I don’t want that for you 🙂
