The Commodore

Today, I’d like to take the opportunity to fill the eggs benny shaped hole in your heart, and introduce you to the restaurant which wins the prize for best brunch by a long shot. I present to you, The Commodore. Now as someone who lives on Bay Street, I’ll admit that going to Parkdale for eggs is quite a trek, but it is sure as hell worth it.

Of course I couldn’t go on the expedition on my own, so I gathered the troops, Anna, Sophie, Qing, Katie, and Tiffany to do what bloggers do best – order different dishes and be totally fine with eating lukewarm (okay, cold) food. Follow along as I report on our chronicles.

The prosciutto and truffle oil scrambled eggs. Guys, I could smell the truffle from a mile away, and from what I was told, it was every bit as incredible as you’d expect.

Croque Madame, another hit.

Shrimp and grits with a poached egg.

And finally, the star of the show, the king of all eggs bennies, the smoked trout eggs benny. You have not lived until you have tried this dish.

So go, take a group of friends, your parents, a stranger, point is just go. It’s a great little spot and I’ll bet my collection of Harry Potter books (which I hold very dear) that you’ll love it as much as I do. PS- they take reservations!

I love smoked salmon the most with my Eggs Benedict, and yes, it’s of course always fun to do brunch with blogging buddies. <3
