If you recall, I first visited Kasa Moto last year for my birthday. Since then, it’s risen to the top of my favourite restaurants in Toronto, and I find myself returning over and over again. So when I was invited to check out their new summer menu, I merrily made my way over and readied myself for a feast worthy of comparison to Hogwarts on Halloween.
Let me tell you, it certainly lived up to my magical expectations. I was immediately seated on the rooftop patio (which, might I add, is one of the coolest patios in the city), and handed a menu chock full of items I had never seen before. I started off with the marinated cucumbers.
A delightfully light teaser for the rest of the dinner. So for this season, Kasa Moto has introduced a number of plant based options to their menu, this cucumber starter being one of them.
Then came three appetizers.
The ceviche, which was incredibly fresh and flavourful.
Tuna Poke, another great option.
And what I thought was the star of the show, the spicy noodles. This was the vegetarian option, and believe me when I say it was bursting with flavours. If I had to recommend one dish from the cold starters, this would be it.
Next came the tuna crispy rise, which is pretty self explanatory. This was absolutely delicious. Think a hybrid between your favourite fried dish and sushi.
Now, the rock shrimp tempura isn’t new on their menu, but it’s one of my favourite items on the menu, and I really couldn’t resist ordering it.
The humpback shrimp burrito, which was extremely light and fresh. It was a very interesting take on a hand roll.
And finally, the Kasa Moto roll which you cannot leave the restaurant without trying. Having fed ourselves like a stuffed turkey on Thanksgiving, we could barely move, but I’m not the type of person that leaves without dessert.
Hence, this plate of Mochi was brought over before I knew what was happening. Guys, it was so delicious I don’t even have the words for it.
And because one dessert is not enough, I also happened to inhale try this chocolate mousse which was truly life changing.
So, next time you’re downtown and wondering where to stuff your face while simultaneously enjoying patio weather and the best kind of people watching, I highly recommend Kasa Moto. Be warned, it’s an extremely popular restaurant, so you’ll definitely need a reservation. Happy dining!
That chocolate mousse looks divine! 😀
