The Quick & Easy Hairstyle You Need To Try This Holiday Season

There are two times of year I absolutely love. The first is summer, for obvious reasons: sunshine, beach vacays, patio dinners, and my birthday. However, a close second would have to be the holidays. I’m talking beginning of November to end of December. There’s something about the festive nature of the year that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Not to mention, the holidays are all about time spent with family and friends. I personally find holiday gatherings to be completely in line with my personality. They usually involve board games, great food, and laughs shared at someone’s home. Needless to say, the volume of holiday parties often call for holiday makeup, wardrobe, and most importantly, hair! As someone who likes to keep makeup to a minimum, I love trying new (and easy) hairstyles for the holidays.

This season, I’ve partnered with Unilever, to bring you this quick and fun hairstyle using some of my current favourite haircare products. With the 100+ things that need to be done during the holidays, spending a million years trying to achieve a complicated hairstyle is the last thing you want. This hairstyle is easy, and lasts forever, thanks to the product range. It’s a fab option to take you from workplace potluck to cocktail party. You can check out the video below, but in short, here’s how I achieved the look:

Step 1: Wash with TRESemmé^® Thick & Full Shampoo and Conditioner
Guys, I’m all about volume. I like to play with textured hairstyles, so I love shampoos and conditioners that give my hair lots of body. The first thing I do is wash my hair with the TRESemmé^® Thick and Full Shampoo (lots of it), and follow it up with the conditioner. I feel like they moisturize and volumize my hair all at once.

Step 2: Blow-dry
I’ll be honest with you: I don’t know how to style with a blow dryer. So I use it just to literally dry my hair before styling it.

Step 3: Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo
Did I mention I love volume? Although my hair is clean, I like to amp up the volume even more by using dry shampoo. I apply it to my roots and even to my locks to give it texture. Also, this stuff smells seriously good.

Step 4: Curl + Spray
I split my hair into several sections and then curl. Afterwards, I spray my hair with the Dove Style + Care Extra Hold Hairspray which really lives up to the name. This hairspray keeps my hair in-tact for over 24 hours!

Step 6: Braid
So for this look, I opted for a Dutch Braid, which I then pulled at to create a fuller look. I then secured it with a bobby pin under my hair.

Step 7: TRESemmé Compressed Micro MistTM Level 2 Smooth Hairspray
To smooth out the braided area, I used the TRESemmé Compressed Micro MistTM Level 2 Smooth Hairspray. And that’s it! You can create this look in under 30 minutes, and it’s a simple variation to your everyday curls.
