Pizza Libretto

Pizza Libretto

When it comes to good pizza, I’ve almost always found that fancy restaurants aren’t the place to look. That’s why I was so keen to try Pizza Libretto, a cheap and simple joint that opened up it’s third location on University. After hearing rave reviews and quite possibly being the only person in the GTA having not tried it, I skipped breakfast and made my way over for a stuff-your-face kinda lunch.

We started off with bread.

In predictable fashion, I whipped out my camera, and Sayed covered his face/threatened to hide under the table for fear of being spotted with a lunatic by his fellow finance friends. Fortunately he was a good sport (as if he had a choice).

I’d been told tales about their  $15 3 course prix fixe menu. Unfortunately, decisiveness isn’t my best quality, and I like to try as many items as possible, so we decided that I would order a la carte and Sayed would order the prix fixe so we could share everything (ironic considering the first time we met, he called me a leech after watching me take fries off our friend’s plate).

The Arancini, which I ordered a la carte. Arancini is basically Italian risotto balls. Think creamy balls of fried rice, doused in tomato sauce. What could be better?

Arugula Salad which was light, fresh, and bursting with flavour.

I ordered the Cremini Mushroom pizza which was undoubtedly the best pizza I’ve had in Toronto. Loaded with mushrooms, cheese and sage for an extra hit of flavour.

The Margherita. Fresh and crisped to perfection.

Although I couldn’t even finish my pizza, who am I to say no to dessert? We ordered the Cinnamon Espresso ice cream which was absolutely delicious.

Bursting with carbs which is synonymous to happiness, I made my way toward to mall to do some shopping.

I can hundred percent see why Pizza Libretto is held in such high regard. I’ll definitely be paying them a visit again soon, and I suggest you do the same.

These images are great. I definitely find the best pizza at a place called Cheeseboard in Berkeley. They only serve pizza — nothing fancy — and it’s always delicious.

It’s always the least fancy places that serve the best pizza! xo

$15 for all that food is an amazing deal. And I’m always in the mood for pizza.

Hi Siffat! I LOVE pizza, and love reading your blog in general. I was wondering what kind of camera you use for these pictures, and who takes them for you. xo

Thanks Abigail! I use a Nikon D300, my photographer varies depending on where I am, but usually it’s my boyfriend. xo
