It’s no secret that I’m a fan of YSL Beauty. Once I find a brand I love, I’m so loyal to it, and YSL just gets it. Their packaging is so chic and the products are phenomenal. And I feel like the brand’s whole effortless vibe is something I can very much get on board with.
Anyway, so last year, YSL released a new lipstick which I’m obsessed with. I actually reviewed it on Youtube, because that’s how much I love it. It’s been a mainstay in my beauty bag for months, and I figured it was about time I dedicated a blog post to it.
The lipstick I’m talking about is The Slim. K, so where do I even start? The reason this lipstick is so unique is because of the applicator. It’s this diamond shape situation, which is unlike any other lipstick I’ve used. It gives you so much precision and control, like a lipstick and liner all in one. Also, while we’re on the topic, the packaging is really cool. It’s really sleek, with the signature YSL gold and black. Very Instagrammable.
So I think glossy lips are nice, but I’m more of a matte finish kinda girl. But not drying. It has to look matte without aggressively drying out your lips. Which is exactly what The Slim is. It’s so pigmented, and the finish is creamy but not shiny. My favourite shades are #1, #18, and #24. The first two are reds and the last one is a really pretty nude-y pink.
